The Historic Preservation Society is the joint effort of a few passionate historians who still remember what it was like in the old days.
While most people tend to be obsessed with everything “new”—with technology, smartphones, social media, and cars that drive themselves—we were always intrigued by what we believe was a happier, wiser and healthier America. A country of more independent people, who held steady jobs and could care for their families, who took responsibility for themselves and their actions without casting blame, who were proud of being American, and who dreamed of building a better world.
Progress has brought us so many good things, but in many ways, things used to be much better. We are smarter now—but we’re not wiser. We own more stuff—but stuff we don’t really need. And we live longer lives—but not healthier ones.
The saddest thing is that right now we’re all sitting on the edge of oblivion. We no longer remember the skills our forefathers bled and died for, nor do we know how to survive without electricity, supermarkets or Uncle Sam’s help. Consumerism has reached epic proportions, and people feel aggrieved if they don’t own the latest gadget.
The truth is we have never been more disconnected from life, from the world, from the soil, from the trees, and from our own souls.
And we are the last generation that can do something about it.
Unless we act now, these vital skills will be lost to history forever and not only us but our children and grandchildren will end up paying the price for our failure.
I hope that like us you will choose a different path today and do your bit in trying to save and preserve our forefather’s skills and legacy for the future.
The day will soon come that we will need them again.
Our mission is to save the lost survival skills of our forefathers for future generations before it is too late.
These are the skills that built America from the ground up into the superpower it is today.
Yet until we came along nobody was doing anything to preserve them. Already, a lot of these vital skills have been irreversibly lost to history. And we won’t have them in our hour of need.
We are a community of passionate old-timers that remember what it was like in the old days have gone to extreme lengths, spending out of our own pocket to travel all over this country in an attempt to gather all our forefather’s wisdom in one place.
That place now has a name – The Lost Ways – and it’s a book unlike any other. You can read about it here on our website and if the information inside seems valuable and worth saving to you, you can purchase a copy.
Whatever the case, you should at least check out the free videos we’ve put there that will show you how our forefathers made a powerful painkilling tincture from a common backyard weed, the superfood that saved native Americans from starvation or how to make yourself a self-feeding fire that burns bright even in the darkest night.
Vision & Values
A world where the lost skills that build America into a superpower it is today are no longer lost, but used by all who wish to improve their daily existence, live more independently and pull through the hard times ahead.
There are but a few values that can impact a life in such a way that it brightens each day and charts a clear future. Not only for that person, but also for their loved ones and their community.
They are the same values our forefathers held most dear. Each one a guiding light in a world that grows ever dim. We’ve looked at our own lives and realized most of us have lived these same values everyday since we were little children.
1. Individual Freedom
3. Equality of Opportunity
4. Pursuit of The American Dream
5. Hard Work
